Sometimes God just surprises me- I’ve been getting nudges to begin doing what I was raised to do- sweet tea, prune cake, cookies and lemonade and gathering around a round table to “visit” and talk about Jesus, love, sweet things and how we aren’t supposed to go around acting ugly.

I’ve been waiting for things to fall into place and then, abracadabra- I get a chance to go to The Good Place: Gently Used and Repurposed Goods and it’s like Jesus winked at me and said,” Here ya go!”

My favorite colors are turquoise, yellow, red and hot pink- and there was this set of mix matched dishes ( i prefer mix matched) for 12$, a perfect cake platter for prune cakes and a big picture with the lyrics of one of my favorite songs…. This is just one of those days where everything falls into place in such a way that it’s all His doing!

I rarely get to go thrifting because my husband isn’t home very often and we went in looking for a buffet for my kitchen at home and came out with these treasures instead.

Two weeks ago, I had another huge nudge and wink from God when Sylvie Renault gave me iron tables and chairs- which I painted turquoise and black to go along with another nudge- Kristin Schell – The Turquoise Table- a ministry that I’ve been drawn to for awhile.

It comes down to this simple thing- a turquoise table is an invitation to sit down and yada- be known and know- love and be loved, it’s a calling to be more like Jesus- sittin’ and talkin’.

Sometimes we get so caught up in how things are “supposed” to be that we miss out on how they could be and I’m finding that things keep happening in such a way that it’s clear to me that God is planning, providing and preparing down to the little details – the unexpected treasures and gifts I’m receiving.

I often think of what I would have missed out on if I hadn’t had to ride Uber instead of driving myself.
I think of all the people that I’ve gotten to talk with, laugh with and even communicate with in the universal way of touch and eye contact.

That’s all part of the reason I’m so tickled pink about the treasures I’ve found because I got a feeling prune cake and lemonade just might be what happens next.
