Here she is again

Doing the best she can

to make sense of everything

going back and forth

second guessing 

what she had said and done

giving others a chance

Here she stands

on the ragged edge

that she knows so well

doing the best she can

to make ends meet

to create something

out of nothing

make treasures out of trash

second hand things

get a second chance

Here she is again

doing the best she can

to understand what’s being said

to read lips 

and in between the lines

without making a fool

misunderstanding

trampling feelings

coming across all wrong

Here she is again

dancing all alone

in the kitchen 

of her studio

with the music blasting

doing the best she can

to sing along

carry the tune 

like she was taught to do

Here she still is

doing the best she can

to have enough faith

enough strength

a little more compassion

patience and wisdom

to just keep on
