She caught him
just in time
to quickly turn
and walk the other way
She didn’t dare
take a second glance
no need to check twice
she knew
she knew full well
down in her bones
in the way her stomach
twisted at the sight
and her hands clenched tight
but it was not
the time or the place
to speak her mind
so she chose
to flee
instead of fight
to trust her instincts
and what she saw
what she felt
and she knew
full well
that she would never
step inside those doors
again.
