Not all that long ago

she would sit outside

just a quarter till 5

and know for almost certain

that soon she’ll be holding

an Americano

and catching up

on bits and pieces

tying up loose ends

Now it seems 

so long ago

she still sits outside

every Tuesday after 5

letting her words go

where they might

while she wonders

if they are read

and drawn
