My son, Gregory, sent this text to me -“I was dozing off throughout much of the UFC fight at the White House, especially the commentary from the winners.
One of the guys first said
“I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ”, but then afterwards made several obscene and profanity laced insults, most notably calling Michelle Obama a man.
This is why so many people, including myself are having a difficult time with Christianity.
It is not about love anymore, it is about power, a political arm to use for power,” and it goes along perfectly with this morning’s scripture verse, “You have been told, O mortal, what is good, and what the Lord requires of you: Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah 6:8 .
It’s that simple.
Until it’s not .
That’s what we have to ponder and , as my devotional said, we need to remember.
Remember what?
This-“Remember: You’re not God. You have limitations. You need a Creator and Savior. You’re only here because God spoke you into existence. So confidently embrace who you are, and who you are not, because it’s when we live fully surrendered to God that He does incredible things through us. “
We are only here because He spoke life into existence and that means each person on this earth is also just as deeply loved by God that created them.
Not more, not less.
Not because of, not in spite of.
God doesn’t play favorites.
He calls each of us to act justly, to be compassionate and kind and to walk with humility.
That’s not so hard, is it, when we put it into perspective- His perspective-the only one that really matters.
That person is just as loved as you are, just as precious, and you- well, you’re just as much a sinner as the next person.
That’s why we all need Jesus, we all need His grace and we all need to act justly, love kindness and walk humbly with God.
All of us.
Mmm
All the time.
The very best way we Mc can because others are watching us.
Watching us closely to see if we really do live a life that reflects God.
It shows up in the way we act and the words we say.
It’s that simple .
