Untouched

She looked at the photograph
No filter had been used
Saw the look in her eyes
And she knew
How untouched she was
How untouched she felt

She longed to let go
Release her own
Pent up energy
Receive the same
Touch she had been giving

But she felt so imperfect
Torn apart and let down
Best laid plans
Hadn’t worked out
And the untouched photograph
Showed that
All too well

She vowed to the reflection
Promised herself
Took the steps
In the right direction
To get back
The woman that she missed

When her body and soul connected
And the mirror showed
The untouched real and raw
Essence of who she felt she was

She was untouched
In do many ways
That she longed to change
